Job Summary:

Rail-Veyor Technologies Global Inc. is a rapidly expanding Sudbury-based company specializing in developing and installing an innovative material haulage system. We have an immediate opening for the position of Project Accountant. The successful candidate will be responsible for fulfilling the project accounting and cost reporting requirements for multiple projects including day-to-day interface with project management, clients and contract personnel.

Skills and Responsibilities:

• Develop, analyze, interpret and provide internal distribution of financial information in order to appraise project results in terms of profitability and performance against budget
• Provide services as an “Internal Auditor” assuring controls are being followed
• Work closely with Project Team and Client in preparing monthly progress invoices to Owner for work performed during the month
• Effectively communicate with Project Team and Client regarding contract documents, change orders and other contract modifications, approvals and any additional services related to billing
• Manage payment and invoicing for all project cost areas
• Maintain accurate and timely Cash Flow data, both current and forecasted as compared to projected Cash Flow assumed in Financial Model
• Administer all approved Change Orders and increases to Prime Contract and pertinent Subcontracts.  Ensure all Contract Purchase Order Changes are issued to Subcontractors on a regular basis
• Monitor Subcontractors’ compliance with required insurance coverage and administer recordkeeping of insurance certificates and other related documentation
• Assist Project Team in maintaining up to date and accurate records in tracking Contemplated Change Notices, Change Directives and Requests for Information
• Manage all project accounting data bases to ensure timely upkeep, security and control
• Provide direct financial communication with all required parties including Owner, Subcontractors, internal Finance and Accounting departments and project team
• Assume other special activities and responsibilities and prepare special project analyses for the Project Manager and Chief Financial Officer
• Prepare year end support of auditor requirements, which may include research and reconcilement
• Possesses good knowledge of accounting procedures and practices.  Able to explain financial records in a non-technical, clear way

Key Competencies:

• Detailed knowledge of project contracts and change order documents
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• 2-3 years of experience in project accounting

• Detail oriented with ability to work and respond quickly in a fast paced environment
• Highly organized
